Clicker Training
A fun way to train any dog!
A clicker is a small device that makes a clicking sound when you press it. Clickers are commonly used in dog training to mark behaviors that you'd like to see repeated, the moment they occur. Dogs come to associate the "click" with rewards. This sound indicates to the dog that the behavior they were engaged in at the time of the "click" is the behavior they are being rewarded for. Because of it's unique and consistent sound, the clicker makes an ideal behavior marker. Dogs learn quickly with this method and are often eager to offer behaviors in order to get you to "click". Clickers are great for boosting confidence in dogs, teaching new behaviors, shaping complicated behaviors, or fine-tuning already known behaviors.
